With men, it is important to keep the edges of curly cuts less blunt so they look more “worn” and natural versus “cut”. I would use a razor to soften the edges.
And I would create long uneven layers as well. Just think “worn hair”… instead of fresh looking long hair cut. 
i have a question, what suggestion do you have for a long hair male cut? my bf has long curly hair its about mid back, he wants to retain length. i want to get rid of the weight. he usually wears it curly but sometimes straight. i was never good with mens cut (student stylist by the way) all of my ideas would look great on a woman, might be too feminine for a man. do you think you can help me?
